This hotel offers a truly unique experience with its well-appointed rooms that most of them feature Jacuzzis, fire pits, and fully-equipped kitchens, providing ample space for comfort. The reception staff, particularly Jason, stand out with their exceptional hospitality, always greeting guests with a warm smile and a professional demeanor, going above and beyond to ensure a delightful stay. Daniel Erler: Literally no WiFi reception in the room, otherwise in the hotel it is too slow for working. Breakfast and evening reception are too crowded, but having free drinks is a nice benefit. The rooms are quite big and the location is superb though.Edit after another visit in 2024: They finally fixed the WiFi and installed repeater. The elevator though can be heard even more than two rooms away, therefore only 4 out of 5 stars.
T1: Nice hotel. The food at the hotel restaurant and the drinks are really good. Joey and the rest of the team at the restaurant are all very nice and friendly. Centrally located near all of the great tourist sites and downtown shopping. Everything was in walking distance. If you rented a car they have a garage under the hotel. Housekeeping is excellent particularly Dora. I will be coming here again.

Dog friendly staff and having little treat bags for them was a pleasant experience as well. This will be the only place I stay in Montreal from now on! Jim Sammons: Stayed here in April and had a great time. The hotel is in a great location - very close to shopping and food. Loved the restaurant on site - the breakfast was fantastic. We had a Loft Suite room, which was large and fantastic. We would definitely stay here again.Walkability: Easy to walk to everything in downtown Montreal.
Dawn Kirchner: First things first, Montreal is an incredible city. My stay is never long enough. The Renaissance downtown hotel is equally incredible. Beautiful decor, great location, clean, and the staff, from the front desk to the restaurant are exceptional. So friendly, helpful & accommodating. The food is great, too. I only had breakfast at the hotel but the latte and classic pancakes were delicious! Can’t wait to visit Montreal again and I’ll definitely be staying at the Renaissance.

Cora Ocampo: The unit itself is luxurious. Beds are so comfy. My children loves the bed and enjoyed watching in their room. If you find any homeless people near the gate entrance, just ignore them. The unit and the building is secured with lock codes and cctv. 301 is complete, from utensils to toiletries. Communication with property manager is top-notch. Kudos to Gael and Gaetan for the smooth check-in and continous communication with us during our stay. For me, that was the icing on the cake.

Kassandra Harris: Top Notch!!! Our suite was out of this world gorgeous! The view was stunning, all of our rooms were set up beautifully, extremely spacious, with a gorgeous kitchen and dining area. The decor was perfection. Pool was small but heated, balcony was a walk around balcony with downtown views you probably can't see at other locations. Staff were attentive and polite. Assisted with all needs, in a timely fashion. Morning breakfast was included and delicious. A variety of options that had a great dining area, but if we didn't want to eat there we were able to bring our food up to our rooms. Valet was amazing, kind and worked quick and safely when driving our vehicle. This is officially our hotel for now on when travelling to Montreal. Well done Le Square Phillip Hotel & Suite!! See you in the summer!
Pierre-Luc Maltais: My room is very very large and very clean. There is a full bathroom and a powder room; a full kitchen with pots and utensils; a dining room and a large living room; in addition, there are two very large closed bedrooms. I love the view of the city's tall buildings.The gym is open 24 hours and the rooftop swimming pool on the 10th floor is pretty and practical for taking a dip or a few laps. There is also a roof terrace accessible 24 hours.The hotel is a 2-minute walk from the McGill metro station and close to everything.The lunch buffet was also of good quality and fresh.Rooms: Large, clean and comfortable.
Kati Hof: The hotel was in the middle of the city. Right on the shopping street, close to the sights and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were not noisy. We had a room with a kitchenette and breakfast. I didn't read too many good reviews about the breakfast. But was pleasantly surprised. It was extremely diverse, fruit, muesli, cheeses, sausages, eggs, yoghurt, different types of bread and cakes.The dining room was full between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. but we ate our breakfast in the room. That was the absolute plus.The rooms were very clean, there wasn't a black spot on the silicone joints in the bathroom. The toiletries were pleasant and were replenished daily.We would recommend the hotel 100%. There is also an airport bus from there that goes directly to the terminal for just CAD 11 per person. Person. The journey took about 35 minutes on Saturdays. But cheaper than Uber or taxi. Since we were there in winter, we were happy to have a gym and a pool. Because it was unpleasant outside all day.
Sabraé Boisvert: Really nice and spacious room with a full kitchen. Good location - seemed pretty central. Breakfast was provided by the hotel - it was a bit chaotic and small. Bagels were excellent. Lots of screaming children. Valet was $35 per day and they damaged my ski rack without telling me. I did bring it up to the front desk and they were able to make things right - very happy with their service. Would stay here again!

Robert Oszust: Made the trip during the solar eclipse. The hotel was very accommodating. The staff were very polite providing bell hop and valet services that one would expect from going to a well run hotel. The area that the hotel finds itself in is a college town which has plenty of near-by amenities. Middle of the road pricing it seems. Rooms were decent. Spacious and adequate for 2 guests. Bathroom was a nice size with a tub/shower combo. Cleanliness in the room could've used some slight improvement.. I found some miscellaneous hairs on my pillows and bed sheets when I first arrived. Bathroom tub dripped continously. Bathroom could've been a bit cleaner. Views are pretty lackluster, but it is in the city after all. Room temp seemed good and the thermostat worked fine. Mini fridge was nice to keep food stored. Room overall was a bit dated and rough around the edges, but it got the job done while visiting. Not disappointed as a whole.

Sue Trad: We stayed here in April. Big room. Nice views and comfortable king bed. They cleaned the room every day. Sauna and heated pool. I guess the season hasn’t started so the river in the garden was not running. My only complaint is the shower it was difficult to figure out. You have to press a button and at the same time twist the knob to have the water started and I couldn’t figure out how to operate the hand held shower. the sink knob is twisted the opposite way. Every time I was trying to close the tap it would open even further. It must be a Quebec thing. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.Walkability: Restaurants and shops

They were so kind in allowing me flexibility with checkout and the option to leave my bags in the room and food in the fridge well past 1pm due to the room being unoccupied the following night. I found the room to be comfortable, with water, little chocolates and coffee/tea. It had everything I needed to sleep and work and was so conveniently located - just 3 minutes from the 747 bus to the airport. Would definitely stay here again.Walkability: 10-15 minute walk to downtown. 3 minutes from Berri metro station.

Very spacious, clean, and quiet after the dinner hour. The host was very friendly; interested in my visit and well-being. Rooms were cleaned every day in the early afternoon.

Gregorio Manara: Really nice hotel situated right in the center of downtown Montreal, you got tons of shops and restaurants around you. The room was fantastic, lots of light and big windows, with the best thing being the bathtub. There were two TVs, one in the bedroom and one right on top of the bathtub, unfortunately none of them were smart tvs so hope you like local programs. The pool was out of service and it was a bit annoying to find out on arrival since we had in mind to make use of it, for the future I would suggest more transparency on it. The staff were great and always available to help.Overall a positive experience but being on the expensive side I would have expected the pool to be fixed promptly instead of taking weeks.

Our room was very clean and the bed was super comfy. Walking distance to great restaurants. Definitely plan on coming back! The only drawback is it’s a bit confusing where to park when checking in.

Rooms are not quite the Ritz Carlton, but quite nice and very charming. The Brasserie was lively on a Thursday, the food, service and vibe impeccable. Meg: My partner and I stayed here this week, our first time visiting Montréal. The rooms are beautiful, very clean, and has very comfortable beds. The hotel has a distinct historic charm that encompasses the soul of the city. The location is perfect, being located right in Old Montréal, and surrounded by many cafés, restaurants, and sights, with direct access to the Metro. Staff is also very welcoming! We will for sure be staying here the next time we visit!Merci beaucoup, l'hôtel est fantastique!Rooms: Rooms are super clean, cozy beds, our room location was very quiet and quaint.Nearby activities: Place d’Armes metro station, Notre Dame Cathedral, and many shops and cafés, as well as historic sites.Walkability: Close access to metro and located central to everything. Most things are walkable and easy to access!
David Goodfellow: We came to Montreal to tour McGill and corcordia with my son and this hotel was perfectly situated 25 minutes walk away and close to amazing old town restaurants and cafes. The room was spacious and quiet. The staff were super helpful when our taxi from the airport tried to charge us $150 for a $41 trip. Definitely this will be our base next time we are in Montreal
Denvic Stg: never disappoints! From valet to room service, everyone went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Considering it was a busy weekend in the neighbourhood and despite crossing many guests during our stay, the hotel room remained remarkably quiet, allowing us to fully unwind and enjoy our stay. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and provided all the amenities we could ask for.Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the best that Montreal has to offer. Theres a reason why we keep returning, Hotel Place d’Armes is our home away from home.Rooms: Very spacious, comfortable and cleanNearby activities: Plenty of restaurants, bakeries, coffee shop oh and we can’t forget The Bell centre also plenty of shoppingSafety: Felt comfortable and safeWalkability: Walking distance to many different venues, activities and sites
All that is: but they seem to stay where they are. Otherwise great location to everthing.

Daniel H: Good hotel. Very clean and good location near restaurants and public transit. The Plateau area is lovely. Easy to get to the tourist attractions too. The sound proofing was good. You can hear a little noise from the busy road, but it’s not terrible. Staff speaks English well.
Ben Duffy: . The standard room is spacious with a Nespresso machine and nicely sized bathroom. Shower pressure and temperature are excellent. Housekeeping is every day without needing to request, fairly unique for a hotel in this class.The bar is nice in the evening with reasonable prices, and the onsite Avis was perfect for us dropping off our car after the trip up. They have a decent gym as well for a hotel gym.Location is good - not necessarily next to much, but within a short walk to the places you'll want to go as a tourist - Old Town, Quartier des spectacles, Le Village, and the restaurant rows just North and East of the hotel.Some reviews mention noise but it according to the front desk, the nightclub next door has closed.Looking forward to returning!

George Papadeas: What an absolutely beautiful little gem in the heart of Old Montreal!My wife and I spent two nights at the Bonaparte Hotel on a mini getaway.Centrally located in the heart of the Old city with so much to do and see, all within short walking distance. From the initial greeting from the Concierge, Luc and the refreshing glasses of Proseco to the delicious breakfast delivered each morning to our room.We had a luxury king suite with a balcony with views of much of Old town.Clean, updated rooms with comfortable accommodations.All their staff where extremely friendly and helpful. We will be back. Highly recommended!
Christina Decosta: This hotel was a happy accident for myself and friends traveling. We had an issue with an Airbnb and needed last minute accommodations. Margo was super helpful at getting us a room and making sure our check in went smoothly. The hotel is a boutique hotel and very historic in the middle of old Montreal. It was the perfect location. The rooms were decorated well and super clean. The morning breakfast basket was perfect and the bar downstairs was great for drinks. We wish we had more time to eat at the restaurant. The front desk staff were all super accommodating and helpful to what ever we needed. I would definitely recommend staying here! I wish I knew about this hotel sooner.
Jessica Farrell: Excellent, excellent hotel in old Montreal! Such a convenient location on a quiet but central street, with nice staff and lovely rooms. The room was slightly small but so comfortable with a nice historic feel and modern amenities. And the breakfast was incredible! Delivered right to your door each morning with a basket full of pastries, cheese, juice - most of them locally made products. Probably the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had.
Tim Uyl: We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, including arranging our dinner reservations. The room was very nice and the bed was excellent. We took full advantage of the large walk in shower with rain and waterfall settings. The room delivered breakfast was delicious and included a good variety of items during our two night stay. We had a street-side room, so were mildly disrupted by some rowdy early morning revellers, which was no fault of the hotel. We would gladly stay again. 🙂Walkability: Very walkable to nearby restaurants, shopping, Notre Dame and other attractions.Food & drinks: The restaurant at the hotel had wonderful food and excellent service.

Monica Solano: Amazing place to stay in a fantastic location in downtown Montreal. Easily walkable to the main spots, bars and restaurants. The accommodations are clean,beautifully decorated and very spacious for a group of eight. Really enjoyed having the bedrooms separate from the living area. The host was extremely responsive the entire time. Would definitely stay here again.

But I would stay here again regardless.Rooms: Plenty of room. Queen beds. 4 master bedrooms with private baths in each. Large closet areas all over the condo.Nearby activities: Food shopping and restaurants. Lots of site seeing.Safety: Its in the city but u need a key fob to get in the front and to your floor from the elevator.Walkability: You can walk anywhere from here. Literally shopping, food, and pharmacy downstairs.Food & drinks: Restaurants everywhere in walking distance.Noteworthy details: Great for party’s or large gatherings. We had a business event n flew in so it was perfect for us. Lots of cooking utensils and appliances.

Audrey Teo: No washing machine at this place.Everything else was perfect. A great location right in the centre of the city and yet the sound proofing the the apartment was very good. In the bedrooms, you can barely hear people in the living area. We were a big group and stayed in the Creative Loft. You really do get the whole floor to yourself and there is a lift directly into the apartment that can only be accessed with a key fob, so it's secure.We only had one issue which was a lack of washing machine even though it had been advertised as having one. However, the lovely team looking after the place provided a satisfactory solution to us.The team are very responsive to questions during working hours and you have an emergency line for out of hours assistance.I would recommend this place for large groups without hesitation.
Vyto Jurgutis: Hidden Gem,The creative loft was spacious, modern interior design - with a rustic charm, the bedrooms are very spacious with good size closets. The bathrooms are generous in space as well as very clean, and everythingworks. The beds are very comfortable, had no trouble falling asleep. The kitchen is a full service kitchen, with plenty of room to cook. Gael was very professional as well as very accommodating. Yes, we would definitely stay there again. Thank you to the staff and Gael.Rooms: Very comfortable, very spacious, and very clean.Nearby activities: Plenty to do within walking distance.Safety: Felt very secure inside, especially with the private elevator.Walkability: Easy to walk around.Food & drinks: Quite a few great restaurants within walking distance, and a wide variety.
Nome Cruz: The Holland Loft is a great place to stay with large groups. The rooms are spacious and there is ample space for large groups to eat and congregate. The staff was wonderful and made our stay very comfortable. The location can't be beat as it is right on Rue St. Catherine and almost right on top of the 'Peel' Metro Station. I would recommend staying at the Holland!
