Gabby has a unique personality. It really about training the owner rather than the dogs. I have two Super adorable Boston Terriers. Gabby helped me see that their undesirable behaviour such as barking and jumping up was basically due to me letting things slide. His training gives good structure. Our dogs are our responsibility.
I have to dobermans and Gaby's dog training courses were a godsend. He does an excellent job boarding 2 of them when I am out of town. I would recommend Gaby to anybody. Keep up the good work.
It's 100$/h for private lessons but it's worth it (big time). We had a problem dog and Mr. Popper made a huge difference for us a couple years ago. I think writing a 5-star review on Google should be the best way to say thank you today. I hope you are doing well Mr. Popper!
Aby Popper is also very responsive to calls and texts if a new concern ever comes up. We would highly recommend Gaby Popper and his Montreal Dog Training School. He is worth every penny! AS Gaby said, dont forget to do your homework so your dog can actually get use to the routine and improve its behaviour every day.
Within the first two sessions (with working with Sammy in between) we already had a remarkable improvement. He does not jump up on people anymore and waits by the door when someone comes to visit and is following commands really well. Overall, he is a really well behaved and happy dog! The in-home training was extremely convenient, and was better for us to know how to act in our regular environment.
Our dog developed a serious behaviour problem a few months after we adopted him. He starting guarding certain items such as food bowls, and he was getting aggressive when playing or even to cut his nails. We started to think we were in over our heads. The goal was to find a professional trainer who could not only fix the problem but to manage and prevent serious problems in the future.
Gaby Popper has been working with our mutt, Blue (Shepherd & Weimaraner mix), since the day after we adopted her at eight weeks. Immediately, Gaby established a strong bond with Blue, with a firm, gentle hand and a loving manner -- a bond that is just as strong four years later.

christine pickrell: I'm shocked to read bad reviews about Gaby Popper......he helped me train our puppy and if you do what he says your dog will be amazing. Our dog now at 18 months will no go off sidewalk until I give him a signal. He walks right beside me off or on lease. Waits for me when to go though front door before him. He never barks when doorbell rings or people come to door. I believe if you listen to Gaby's experience you will have a great dog. He also trained my cousins puppy and they loved Gaby too.

Robert Oliver: Fantastic dinner, probably the best we had on our trip. Had the seafood special appetizer with the aoli sauce which was incredible. Beef tartar was great too! Split the New York strip with the bone marrow. Cooked to perfection and so rich with the marrow also liked the side horse radish cabbage. Someone else got the lobster pasta which was outstanding! Enjoyed the lemon sorbet thoroughly!

We couldn't be more impressed with the flavour and the quality of our meal. Our server was fantastic and was very thorough in taking us through the menu. We were sat at a deuce table in front of the service area which was very busy and chaotic. We felt several times that the servers or staff would fall into us but instead ended up bumping into each other to navigate the narrow aisle. There really wasn't enough room for the table and the staff in that area. But we were very glad to have had the experience at this wonderful restaurant and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Camila Rojas: I have a one-year-old border collie. She was quite reactive with other dogs, she would jump on moving cars on walks and pull on the leash very hard. It was so severe that I could no longer take her for a walk. She barked at people who passed by our house and since she was very anxious, she couldn't calm down at any time. After the first session with M. Smith, Nala no longer pulled on the leash and he taught me how to correct her the right way. Before, every exit from the house was complete frustration, now Nala no longer barks at every person who passes by our house and we are working with her reactivity towards dogs. Graham not only helped Nala change her bad behaviors, but he also helped me feel more confident and more capable of controlling my dog. We will continue the training sessions until Nala feels much calmer and less fearful of her surroundings and until I learn to be the leader that my dog deserves. I am very grateful to Graham Smith for his help and all his support.

Kush Khurana: An amazing transformation from jumping, hyper, and inappropriate to gentle, calm and confident, and all it took was one session. Graham took the time to assess my dog and began his approach right away. Within an hour, he was completely transformed into a very polite dog. The process felt a little jarring at first, but within minutes I was seeing how it was actually a better way of communicating and it didn't have unintended consequences. It preserved full respect for my dog.Prior to seeing Graham, we used to take 15 minute leash walks, because he would pull so much and it would be really frustrating. I can now even walk by other dogs without worrying about lunging and barking. Yesterday, we even took an hourlong walk with almost no corrections!Importantly, Graham uses a holistic approach that results in happier and more fulfilled dogs, and that includes nutrition too. He was extremely knowledgeable about every facet of dog ownership and psychology. He is also very prompt at responding to texts or calls. I truly wish I'd called him sooner! Great experience!

After meeting graham and following his advice and rules my baby was crate trained in 3 days, she stopped biting and chewing on people and I’ve had little to no pee accident and 0 poo accidents. I barely have to correct her twice whenever she’s acting out. I’ve also followed his advice when it comes to get diet which also reflects her behavior. Her weight is super healthy and her poop is tiny, compared to before when I was feeding her kibble.

Bouba Slim: I absolutely highly recommend Graham. His knowledge, love of dogs, sense of humour and communication skills has made working with him, a real pleasure. I have seen the changes immediately, in my now very well-behaved pup. He is always available for any questions and very quick to respond. Best decision I have ever made in choosing him as a trainer!
Kassandra Biron: We've loved working with Graham since the first time we met. He didn't cut corners when he saw we weren't doing the right thing with our dog for optimal training and always gave us the best tips possible. He was always there to help, even in my desperation when my dog was violently barking at other dogs and would not stop barking in his crate when we were away. He's also there to help me when I have a problem with my dog's health, or even when a visit to the vet has gone wrong.Even after 8 months of not needing to contact him, when I send a request, he calls me within the hour.It's the best service you can get, and everywhere we go, everyone tells us that our dog is well behaved, and that he's the best behaved dog of all!Definitely worth the money and time!
Claudie Léger: Graham has been so helpful with our toy poodle Ophelia! We first contacted him last year when we adopted our 10 months old puppy and saw instant results for obedience and barking issues. We recently moved to a new place and I contacted him again for a few ajustements to her new environment and Graham came within a week at no additional cost! I have always been highly satisfied with his services and helpfulness. He even helped me get the service dog requirements. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants a well behaved dog!

James: I saw another google review praising the stout braised beef, and had to try it. If I wasn't in a public setting, I would have licked the dish clean; the beef was tender, the brown sauce was delicious, and the mash and veg were cooked well! I ordered an old fashioned to accompany my dinner, which tend to be hit or miss depending on the establishment. These folks hit the mark. Wonderful dinner and drinks. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, the staff are a pleasure to deal with, and I would encourage everyone considering a visit to take the plunge. I'll certainly be returning during my next stay in Montreal. Cheers!
