Academy Fine Arts De Montréal: what do users think?

Francine La Rocque: Impressed by the diverse backgrounds of your teachers, I would like to know who teaches watercolor?THANKS.

Mario Lapierre: I liked it, the people are very friendly.

Karim Aktouf: The Montreal Academy of Fine-Arts rivals with the best in class international classical drawing academies. I learned classical drawing at that school and now I teach there as well. I highly recommand it if you want to learn how to observe and how to draw from life.

Francois B: If you are interested in developing your drawing or painting practice, this is the place. Several free courses and workshops, great work space and very good lighting, for still life or live model 🤩

Rossy Sanchez: The best art school with the best teachers!

Manon Dube: An excellent school for all levels with extraordinary teachers.Whether you are beginners or advanced, the teaching method is suitable for everyone and each student is monitored according to their progress.I highly recommend!

Francoise Philie: I had my first experience with this school this weekend. Wow! Karim Aktouf, professor: what professionalism! THANKS!

Olga A: the knowing that I had absolutely no aptitude for drawing. I could appreciate the beauty of drawing but I couldn't create anything myself. And OMG how surprised I was that you can learn!!! I absolutely love the studio and what is the most precious is that the teacher uses individual approach to each student, patiently explaining things, showing, encouraging you to truly learn and create. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Thank you, Académie des Beaux Arts ❤

Athmane Tizi: Beautiful school, my daughter has progressed well. A professional team

Josh Chertkoff: The best teachers!

Laurence Rimokh: A remarkable place which offers classical education, on a par with the greatest art schools in the world, such as the Louvre, Paris, which I also attended. In addition, the teachers adapt to everyone new, from beginners to the most experienced. I highly recommend!

Paul-André Alain: Excellent arts school for learning drawing and painting techniques. Plus the summer workshops are super interesting!!!

Serge Groleau: Dedicated teachers with a pleasant atmosphere for learning.

Famille Normand Michaud: I love this classic art school for the personalized, caring and structured teachings. The teachers are generous and undeniably experts in classical drawing and painting. The workshops take place in small groups which often bring together different levels of experience, which allows for complicity and additional learning between peers.I also appreciate the flexible schedules, the stimulating summer programming, the friendly atmosphere and the quality of the workshop spaces. If you are looking to learn additional skills in classical drawing and painting, look no further, you have come to the right place!!!Sylvie Michaud

Philippe Lemoine: In the 4 years that I have been taking drawing classes at the Academy, I can only see my great progress! Beautiful social and family environment. / Since 4 years that I am subscribed to the school, I can just be amazed of my drawing progress. Loving also the friendly, family-like atmosphere.

Julie Bordeleau: Competent and passionate teachers who push us to develop a better drawing technique while respecting our learning pace.

Centre des arts visuels / The Visual Arts Centre: what do users think?

Nahid Nasiri: Good teachers and warm vibe , highly recomended

Claudia M: I couldn’t imagine doing ceramics at any other studio in the city.

Federico Cuartas Aristizabal: Best arts and crafts school in Montreal. Bilingual classes. Love it!

Gary Parker: Very nice little gallery

Mary Caroline Rowan: An enchanting gallery space. The current exhibit titled "with the seasons" captivating!

catherine deschamps montpetit: Attended the "Ring in a Day" workshop given by Cynthia Hawkes and it was amazing! Cynthia and her assistant were very attentive and patient teachers. I went in without any knowledge about jewellery design and came out with two silver rings that look like they were made by a pro!The Visual Arts Centre has also put in place many COVID safety procedures such as plexi glass between stations, PPE and cleaning. I felt very safe during my time in the studio. Will be back for more courses very soon.

Jean-Marc Beaudoin: Positive:ProfessionalismVery professional. Excellent teachers. Very complete range of courses.

Louise Samson: . The teachers are exceptional: passionate artists, they are also excellent communicators who know how to guide the student and help them to surpass themselves. The Center also presents lectures at its McClure Gallery as well as the opportunity for students to be part of an annual exhibition. Their works are grouped together and demonstrate the diversity of media explored: oil painting, acrylic, drawing, charcoal, red chalk, watercolor, ceramics, jewelry creation, etc...The Center also operates very stimulating day camps for children during the summer season.Management and staff are on site. They know how to advise and give you impeccable service.A fantastic school that makes your aspirations come true.

Claude Bouchard: I had painted in oil on my own for years, learning by trial and error, but when I decided to try my hand at watercolour, I felt some direction would be beneficial and I signed up for my first class at the Visual Art Centre. Was I pleased with my decision? So much so that I ended up taking additional classes for a half dozen years and was never disappointed. Not only were my teachers talented artists themselves, they also had the ability of transferring their knowledge and techniques to their students. A wonderful atmosphere to develop creatively with other talented peers while having fun. Highly recommended.

Bonnie Shemie: Great place with a good vibe. It has been very rewarding to volunteer as a board member for eights years

Theresa Passarello: Taking courses at the VAC gave me the confidence to move on to the Studio Arts Program at Concordia to receive my BFA. The teachers and staff are always helpful and supportive and the exhibitions and artist talks at the McClure Gallery are an added bonus to an already exceptional community art school. I volunteer as a board member at the VAC because it is a jewel of an art school!

lise gohier: Great school, the teachers are qualified. The classes are enthusiastic and the students are motivated.

École des Beaux-arts de Montréal EBAMA: what do users think?

Luciano Daniele: .He inspired us with his passion and dedication not only to his art, but his dedication to sharing his skills with ALL of his students, regardless of our skill level or understanding... very professional, and very classy; brings such a positive vibe to the environment, such an enriching experience.LucianoYahoo Mail: Search, Organize, Conquer

Pamala Tor: I did 30 hours of lessons in Ebama. After several searches I came across this school which really intrigued me by the programming of the courses and the exercises to be carried out and the description of the teachers' teachings and their background. I was well received on the phone by the director and professor Nicholas Kupriakov. I was even able to tour the studio before making my decision. Nicholas was very attentive to my needs, respectful and even very encouraging. Thanks to his classes, I now have much more confidence in painting and letting myself go in my free time when the need to paint arises... I can paint for hours without feeling blocked by the insecurity of making mistakes . I now understand shadows, lights and colors, volume, trace, perspective, etc... The students are very fine, welcoming, warm, very talented...and also generous with advice! I will continue to take courses when the means allow me. In short, I strongly recommend this school for fine arts if you are looking for quality in learning. It's a school with a magnificent studio. It’s quite a gem! Well done!

Karine Giguere: Authentic place to learn the art of painting and drawing. We are accompanied by visual arts professionals who teach us and help us each evolve at our own pace and develop our own style. We are taught the basis and structure of fine arts there!

Elizabeth McKenna: Incredible experience, I've been taking classes there for almost three years and I love the progression I see. The teachers are professional and talented.

Roxon meditech: Very good school, perfect mix between teaching and self-development. The teachers adapt to the level of each student, from beginner to more advanced.

Pannetier Le Hénaff Stéphane: I traveled 6000 km from France to come study at EBAMA, learn a solid Italian academic base in drawing and oil painting, yes the Montreal Artus School of Fine Arts is worth the detour! My best study experience 5/5

Chantal Malo: Teaching according to each person's level, well organized, knowledgeable teacher.

Karen Herrera: Ebama teachers are passionate about seeing their students art talent to growth. You will learn multiple disciplines and techniques of arts as well art history and Architectural art not to mention that they are more affordable than other arts in town.

keven marotte: Excellent school with top quality courses. I recommend it to you.

Jocelyme Payette: Bravo Stéphanie for your professional, clear, relevant and very well structured communications! It’s a pleasure to talk with you. Jocelyn

D. VALLIERES: Do you want to learn the basics of classical drawing and painting in a contemporary context? EBAMA is the right school. Under the supervision of teachers, you will learn to work from still lifes, develop your sense of observation, composition and colors. Through a solid curriculum,  Nikolai, a committed artist and experienced teacher, pushes each student to find their own path, their own style.

École de Dessin et Peinture Mélissa Breault: what do users think?

Élisabeth Patenaude: I needed some challenge in my art process so I went to a 2-day workshop even if I've never done pastels before. It didn't take long to realize how skilled she is at teaching. Moreover she's an international-level artist and that's because she masters composition, light, values, color, drawing. I went there just for a fun weekend but now I am hooked to pastels. I also feel Melissa can challenge me for years if I want to. I've met several art teachers, university level and private ones, but I learned more in 2 days than any training I had after the same amount of time. There's no question she can't answer. And people who know what I can produce were very impressed by the results . She brought my art to the next level.

Dan Lazar: and you feel like you're getting private instruction.I have learned so much from being around her, not even as a student, but as a friend - how to draw, how to appreciate visual art, how to communicate and teach, how to present my work to others, and more.Thank you Melissa!

Aya Endo: The first time I went to have a portrait made under Mélissa's guidance framed, the master framer said, without hesitation: "you must be one of Mélissa Breault's students!". He could recognize Mélissa's teachings through the quality of the work carried out...! Mélissa offers very high quality lessons, giving us a solid foundation in drawing, in a calming and stimulating environment at the same time. It stimulates our artistic fiber and we manage to paint the soul of our subjects. She's the best drawing/painting teacher I've ever had!!!

Pierre Ouimet: Student of Mélissa for two years, I would have liked to have known her before.Very professional teacher, she is great.Very generous in sharing her knowledge, she also knows how to show us avenues to explore resulting in individual and motivating discoveries.I get great learning from it in a relaxing atmosphere. Thanks to an outstanding enthusiast!

david willcock: Melissa is one of the most talented artists alive today!I am fortunate enough to own a number of her works and to have been the subject of a few of her pastels, which went on to win a number of international awards, as many of her works often do!I know her personally and can say that she puts her students above all! -The only reason that she teaches and doesn't paint full time is because she loves her students. You are guaranteed a reliable, strategic approach to becoming better artist from a world renowned master of the arts! The space is out of this world beautiful and she plays lovely calm music and offers tea 😊 - all of which, I would imagine to be much more inspiring than average - Though I'm not an artist and have never taken classes with her.I know that her students must love her and that her work is amazing.Don't even take my word for it! - Check out her website and credentials!Truly an exceptional artist and an excellent person!- You would be fortunate to take advantage of her knowledge and experience while you can!She also does contacts!

Georgia Priniotakis: What an amazing workshop with Melissa. Demos given during our excursion to the park, were well conducted. Melissa devoted time to walk around our easels to advice and check on our progress. Melissa is a devoted artist, and teacher. I am looking forward to more workshops with this great instructor.

Mireille St-Pierre: I went to several art schools before finally finding Mélissa Brault’s school. I have been taking classes with Mélissa for several years and I am delighted. She shares with generosity and availability all of her knowledge and supports us, at all levels, in our learning journey. She teaches us the different techniques, notably drawing, oil painting and pastels, necessary for the development of our artistic autonomy. It is an incredible opportunity to have this great pastel artist at our side to accompany us on this beautiful artistic path.

Jann Goodwin: Excellent teachings from a highly skilled artist in a lovely studio. Melissa is the real deal and I have benefitted greatly from our sessions.

Cindy Durack: Because I have taken many art classes over the last 10 years with a variety of teachers in three different mediums, I feel confidant in my opinion regarding Melissa’s strengths as a teacher in the field. With her guidance, my drawing skills advanced far more quickly compared to other classes I have attended, while her expertise in soft pastel makes her the perfect teacher for both beginners, as I was, as well as more experienced painters. Melissa uses a meticulous and methodical approach to teaching that quickly garners results . Whether it’s the basics you’re after or refining your work and gaining more advanced techniques, Melissa meets you where you are with patience and expertise. Her knowledge, talent and generosity, when combined with a willingness to go above and beyond to support and encourage her students, make her a one of a kind artist, teacher, and human being.

RobertEssence: I've been taking lessons with Mélissa for several years, and even though I live 3 hours away, I take lessons at her school when I have the chance. To date I have not found any other source or artist who offers as much knowledge and in a pleasant environment. Truly the best!

Carole Dumais: I studied with Mélissa for several years. I really liked my experience. She is very competent and supports her students in good learning. She is talented. She knows how to respect everyone's pace and the students improve a lot during these lessons. I love doing workshops with her when possible because she continues to evolve and can always show us.

Michelle Bonneville: Excellent teacher and beautiful inspiring studio!

Julia Waks: I have been taking classes on and off with Melissa for the past 3 years. She is extremely knowledgeable. She has created a beautiful, bright open space for all her students to focus and learn in. Melissa is a very reflective teacher. She shares her knowledge, and takes time and effort to create a warm and positive environment that is extremely well equipped. I am looking forward to getting back to her studio soon and continue my studies. Highly recommended to those who are serious about learning from a skilled, talented and devoted teacher.

Helene Smith: , she masters the art of colors and is attentive to her students. With a sensitive personality, I am happy to take classes with her. Here is a great pastel artist and a passionate soul!

Lina Zainea: If I could give 5 more stars, I definitely would.I've been taking classes with Mélissa for about 7 years. I was always satisfied and at the end of each session, I looked forward to the next one.Mélissa is extremely attentive to her students, professional, caring and extremely generous. Her art studio is beautiful, always clean, tidy and so welcoming. What a joy to draw in such an environment. She welcomes everyone, all levels, and adapts according to the projects. We have high-quality, semi-private teaching, where everyone progresses at their own pace.Anyone who wants to learn to draw or paint, with a solid knowledge of the technique, I unreservedly recommend Mélissa Breault. It is the best!

Silvana Cecchini: Excellent teacher! She is knowledgeable, prepared, and very patient. Took several workshops with her and planning to take more.

Shamama LaSalle: Definitely the best place in Montreal to get one-to-one art instruction at a reasonable price. Melissa is attentive to students’ needs and accommodates them no matter what your skill level or preferred medium. The pleasant ambience of her studio makes lessons both productive and enjoyable.

École Nationale de Cirque: what do users think?

Morgan Pack: I am currently enrolled in the teacher training program here, and my absolute favourite thing about it is my mentor Sylvain. I know a few other people who got mentors that are not nearly as good, but my experience has been absolutely amazing. If you’re into improving your coaching of hand to hand/standing acrobatics and you are lucky enough to learn from him I would highly recommend this program!

Riel Roussopoulos: The buildings and facilities are beautiful, the coaches... Don't compare to @circuswest @cirkids in BC though.

Will Juntunen: Last night, I was sitting in the ancient Marche Bonsecours and looking through my options. I noticed that the show, Passengers, started not at Eight but Seven-Thirty. I noticed a few tickets remained at the theater on Rue Jarry. Not until I booked a ride share did I realize I was destined for a night at the National Circus School. I knew I was just going to make the curtain and had no idea that a ticket awaited to be purchased. "Perfect", I thought. The conditions were exact.I had to get out of the rideshare early because cars had lined up onto Jarry for parking. The school has a weak connection to the superb transpo system. So I ran around the cylindrical building and beelined for the billeterie, the box office. Although the show was virtually sold out, one good ticket remained for my purchase.Needless to say, the show made rail travel seem so much more exotic than it has become, exhibiting great acts of juggling, contortionist hijinks and all the circus arts, all in the context of eight men and women on a train trip to anywhere. The tight rope act nailed me emotionally, brought tears to my eyes, a small feat, but still tears unexpected. A tableau depicted a young man sleeping on the rails, the same man walking tight rope as the tight rope apparatus moved. The men and women writhed underneath him as he tried more and more daring stunts. And bam, I got it. Grandfather Edward Jacob rode the rails across the Upper Peninsula, traveling for work. Paying fare would take away from savings, and why would you pay if a bracket hung under the rail cars where a person could hang? As a folk musician in Syracuse made clear while introducing a Guthrie song on riding the rails, when one rode the rails under the box cars, one didn't sleep. To fall asleep meant falling off and certain death. One had to wait hours to take care of personal needs, too. So if I were to offer notes to the production, going next to Moscow, the man on the tableau should hang upside down, maybe with a grim look on his face and three days of scruff on his chin. The Master of Ceremonies invited us to continue our celebration in the bistro and the circus cascades afterward. He meant no lip service. People really did loiter, invited loiterers, enjoyed picnics at the tall round tables. The cast lounged, finally, on the settees. The bistro stayed full even as a staff cleaned the floor in the main hall and the gift shop closed.Maybe in Montreal politeness becomes a kind of superpower. I turned to my right and asked a young man if I could offer him a drink. He accepted, but said, "I am only on the technical crew"! He was looking forward to Christmas when the show goes dark for three whole nights.I found a table to drink a Rousse, a red biere that has become my go to biere. The fellow who ordered the IPA on my tab would not stand for me to drink alone and invited me to his table where the sound man, the light tech and their team chatted shop talk in French. Just techs my foot! My new friend handled the ropes behind the scene, allowing the performers to fly. The lights and sound tripped on a mere hand clap or less! After a few good pulls, all switched to English in order to figure me out. I did my best but, I really wanted the team to switch back to French again. The team deserves another round for sharing their stoke with an American bloke!

M Lafontaine: Internationally renowned circus arts school.

Daniel Mazerolle: Breathtaking

Collège Salette: what do users think?

Canelle94: Best design school in Montreal, the training is very comprehensive and the teachers are involved in our success. I found a great job very quickly after finishing my training in graphic design thanks to the Salette college placement service.

ED Riopel: Great College! Great teacher!

Math a Phaneuf (mathalphaneuf): and that they are accessible. Salette is like a big family, the management and the teacher are like cool parents. The other colleagues in the class are like adopted brothers and sisters with whom you get along well.Everyone has their own background, which brings a dynamic that I have never seen elsewhere, there is mutual support, I never had the impression of being in competition with them. The teachers do not train us to compete but to surpass ourselves. They also have their professional background, which is what makes the level of teaching higher than other colleges of the same category.Of course, being accepted by the college means a lot of work and not a lot of life

Lyse Paquette: I really enjoyed my two years of study at Studio Salette. I acquired a very good foundation in graphic design. I had a very successful career in the field. I worked in agencies for almost thirty years and I employed graphic designers who had studied at Salette College and I never had to regret it.
