Mother of Perpetual Help Devotions, held every Tuesday at St. Patrick’s, are a continuation of the Devotions introduced by the Redemptorist Fathers at St. Ann’s Church in the 1920’s.
In the early years as attendance continued to grow, predictions were that with the end of the Depression and a return of prosperity, interest in them would wane. The popularity of the Devotions outlived the Depression and also outlived St. Ann’s Church, which was demolished in 1970. The weekly vigil was then transferred to Saint Patrick’s, were it has continued to accommodate the many Montréalers who still find the Devotions one of their favourite ways of paying tribute to Our Blessed Lady and calling on her for help and protection.
The Saint Patrick Basilica Choir under the direction of Associate Music Director John Guzik, D. Mus. M.Mus., ARCT, accompany the eleven o’clock celebration of the Eucharist from September until June. The Mass is sung in Latin every third Sunday of the month during that period. The choir is made up of volunteers with professional singers as section leads.

The beautifully decorated church with its art and sculpture is incredible and should be on your visit list. The parish has fallen on very difficult times, with multiple break-ins and thefts over the years. I have been coming to this church since I got sober over 20 years ago, basically I have lived in the church basement my whole life since 2002. It is a meeting place for English speaking AA and French speakers. Meetings. It is a sacred parish with a beautiful history. But she had bad days.Saint Leon's Church in Westmount is one of the oldest Francophone parishes in Montreal. The beautifully decorated church with its art and sculpture is incredible, and should be on your visit list. The parish has seen very hard times, with multiple break ins and robberies over the years. I've been coming to this church since I became sober over 20 years ago, basically I lived in the church basement for the whole of my life since 2002. It has been a meeting place for both English and French A.A. Meetings. It is a hallowed parish with a beautiful history. But she has seen bad days.
Cecile Lefebvre: Cest magnifique structural design !!! 🤩The priest was concerned about their budget since the candle display actually has a $3.00 price posted in a church ??!!?!!! I thought I put $3.25 but after I put all the coins in the money slot kneeled on pedestal said some prayers I took photos of all the stained glass windows since no one else was inside but the priest. When I got to the table by front door to pick up a bulletin the priest surprisingly confronted me and told me I hadn't put the required amount !!!!!!!!! He said I shorted the church by $2.50 for lighting candles for people I prayed for . So I apologized and explained I thought I put a $2.00 coin in when he showed me all the quarters I put in. So I pulled out some more coins and gave him $3.25 more. Really since when does a church have requirements on lighting candles for sick and deceased people, GEEZ 🙄

Lois Morrison: I started attending Cote Des Neiges Church @ 1956 and married Lois Morrison in 1961 at this church by Rev. H. MacRury and attended until moving to Ontario in 1967. We have fond memories , especially Young Peoples .The ministers and congregation were a great blessing to us. We now attend Westside Presbyterian Church in Cambridge, On. with Rev. Mark Gaskin, our minister and pastor.Bruce Morrison
Joanne M.: I've been attending this church since 2008. This church has played a huge role in deepening my faith and my love for others. You can truly feel God's presence in this place, and you can directly see the love that each member of the congregation has towards each other. The present minister, Rev. Coppieters, is a wonderful pastor, faithful christian, and wise counselor. The teachings are biblical and do not deviate from the truth.

Geoffrey McLarney: The only weekly Solemn High Mass left in Montréal.
Brendan Jones: A great community of warm welcoming people. A traditional service with beautiful music.
Simran Kailey: Can everyone tell me is there any confession room in this church?
Kenneth Higham: God lives here. I visit him on Sundays. What more can I say?
Dwain Richardson: Wonderful acoustic for music making. Friendly clergy and congregation, too.
James Fenn: Love this place. Hopefully they will be able to stay open. Had the most beautifully spiritual experiences here
