Michelle Smook: Rebecca’s quilting studio is a home away from home. A positive and uplifting environment for learning and a quality shop for everything you need for any quilting project you wish to undertake. The staff are kind and knowledgeable and the clients you bump into are also a pleasure to meet. The owner has created a community of quilter’s I feel proud to belong to. If you haven’t been you must visit this ASAP! It is accessible for those with disabilities with an elevator in the building even more it is LGBTTQIA+ inclusive. The ultimate safe space.The photo is a quilt I made in the Beginner 2 class at MQS.
Renee Taillon: I walked into Rebecca's shop around a year ago knowing nothing about quilting. Having just moved to the city I was looking for a hobby and she not only encouraged me but spurred me on every step of the way. MQS has excellent beginner classes, with knowledgable teachers who are passionate about what they do. The environment is always welcoming and the selection of fabrics is so robust.

The selection is top notch, with hundreds of bolts to choose from, and new fabric coming in all the time. Jennifer Frei: This is a lovely little shop in the heart of Monkland Village. The owner is so helpful and there are unique fabrics not found elsewhere. I came with swatches to match and found a beautiful backing for a quilt I was working on.

The Skritt King: Craftdeville is my go-to local quilt shop for anything quilting or crafting related. They have a great selection of fabrics, patterns, and notions, but the best thing is the personalized attention and assistance I get. Craftdeville and recently started offering workshops. It's a cozy place where you'll definitely be making new friends in addition to picking up some new skills.
Maggie Hobbs: Great selection of crafting products, from quilting, embroidery, bag making, and everything in between! Also Stacy is awesome at helping you find what you need, and her shop is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon looking at all of the pretty things!

First of all, the owner of the shop was incredibly helpful: she suggested online pattern companies for beginners, she printed my patterns in PDF, explained to me how to assemble and understand them, then advised me on fabric selection.
