I recently bought an "open box" pair of studio headphones that arrived without the mini-to-quarter inch adaptor. In the past, I would buy from USA. Pierre Dorais: Looking for a new guitar, I stumbled upon the website of the Grand Salon de Guitare de Montréal. Immediately I was amazed by the quantity and quality of the instruments offered, most of them guitars handcrafted by the best luthiers. Plus, some of these guitars were offered at really affordable prices. A veritable Alibaba cave, so to speak.So I went to this show where Paul, the owner, made me try the guitars I wanted to know. It was like a good wine tasting. He would hand me an instrument, I would try it and we would move on to the next one. When I chose the Raimundo C-129 “Cocobolo”, he exclaimed: “You like cedar! ". This guitar indeed produces a languorous and intimate sound that I love to hear.I don't regret my choice. In addition to its beautiful sound, the C-129 has proven to be very easy to handle: I perform barre, tremolo, sostenuto and harmonics with more ease. Chris Mcourt: I recently purchased a classical guitar from Paul. It is a beautiful instrument. It has a bright sound in the trebles complemented by a rich and sonorous bass. It is a guitar that has a quick response, with excellent sustain in both the low register all the way up to the 19th fret. I found Paul to be extremely knowledgeable and his demeanour friendly and congenial. Throughout the process, Paul really went out of his way. I’d been on the hunt for a Strandberg Boden Bass since they were first announced, and to not have to travel all the way to Edmonton to make it a reality was really helpful. As soon as I made an inquiry into it, he was prompt, professional and incredibly patient with my constant delays in finally pulling the trigger and made sure communication throughout the setup and delivery was as on point as it could be.Since then, he has also helped me purchase another hard-to-find item in the Darkglass ADAM pedal, letting me know when his limited stock was in and reserving one for me even when I had to wait on funds. AND most recently was prompt about getting in touch with Strandberg over a potential warranty issue in a heartbeat. I’ve never had customer service like this before, and it’s a breath of fresh air from most guitar stores and dealers I’ve dealt with.Mark and by extension Musique Max Boutique are an absolute joy to deal with and you won’t be disappointed with what he brings to the table, both professionally and inventory-wise.
