4worldlovers: Officially founded in 1907, the Mount Royal Tennis Club (the MRTC) actually dates back to the 1880s where it was first created at another location close by. As the oldest tennis club in the city, the MRTC has evolved to become one of the most exclusive tennis Clubs in Montreal.

Our Club’s history is a rich and storied one, punctuated with 25 Davis Cup Ties and many other international and national tournaments that continue to this day.

The MRTC is a private club that now has twelve magnificent Har-Tru courts playable day and night from May to October. Over many years, traditions such as predominantly all-white tennis attire and the provision of balls by the club, have become established and endorsed by generations of members. The Club also has a magnificent deck overlooking the club grounds, a saltwater pool, a snack bar, plus a lovely fine dining menu for evening pleasure.

There are a vast number of tennis activities to keep members in shape and get their game in top form. Typical events include a variety of Round Robins, evening House Leagues for men, women’s and men’s Interclub teams as well as many competitive and fun tournaments. The MRTC is Tennis Canada’s club of choice in Quebec to host The Canadian Senior Nationals tournament. The tournament was held at the MRTC in 2015 and many members participated as players and volunteers.

Boasting 12 impeccably groomed Har-Tru courts, the MRTC gives players of all levels an unparalleled tennis experience. The courts are opened from May through October and are lit to allow evening play.

Adjacent to the courts is our beautiful heritage clubhouse which dates back to 1907 and has been fully renovated in 2010. The main hall is a beautiful regal, wood-paneled room welcoming members and their guests, complete with a TV to watch tennis tournaments and a toasty fireplace for chilly autumn evenings. The clubhouse features a bar, kitchen and dining area, a trophy room, a pro shop and a ladies’ and men’s locker-room.

Our spacious deck is an ideal spot to enjoy a drink and chat with friends while watching some great tennis. Plan to linger on the deck after your match and enjoy the beautiful facilities, only minutes from downtown Montréal.

There’s no better way to cool off on a hot summer day than by taking a dip in our refreshing saltwater pool. The snack bar is just a few steps away to make sure you are fully hydrated while on the pool deck!

The spacious lawn at the MRTC invites members to take a moment to relax and enjoy the scenery. You may find a quiet spot to lounge and read a good novel under a shady tree, or you can enjoy a nice lunch with friends. The lawn is the hot spot for the highly popular weekly family BBQ’s and many special themed events throughout the season.

At the heart of TSPA is our tennis day camp for 5 -15 year- olds held at various locations in Côte Saint-Luc (more info) between June 19 - August 25, 2023.
