The chef introduced us to a Korean-inspired menu and everything was carefully accompanied by wines selected by sommelier Manon. The service was excellent and the explanations detailed for each dish. I will definitely return to discover other workshops!

Begin to form a dough by stirring the flour into the potato/egg mixture until you have a dough which is not sticky. Add flour as needed. Do not over work the dough as it should be light and airy.
On a lightly floured surface, cut off a piece of the dough and begin to roll into a long rope of approximately 1 cm in diameter. Lightly dust your hands with flour and using the palms of your hands and your fingertips, exert a light pressure on the dough and roll from the centre outwards to form an even shaped rope.
Cut the rope into 1 inch pieces and form an indentation in each gnocchi by pressing down with your finger tip and lightly rolling the gnocchi. This will help the gnocchi to catch the sauce. Place gnocchi on a baking dish lightly dusted with flour to prevent from sticking. Repeat with the remaining dough.

Heidi Abergel: Appetite for Books is a hidden treasure in Westmount. The owner Jonathan Cheung is a professionally trained chef & has curated an amazing selection of cookbooks. He also hosts book signings & other great foodie events. The best part about Appetite for Books are the AMAZING cookbook themed cooking classes. You drink wine while Jonathan prepares, teaches & serves you a delicious 4 course meal. His food rivals that of the best restaurants in Montreal. You can also plan a private dinner celebration with Jonathan for 8-10 people, great for work parties, birthdays, etc... I highly recommend. 🥂

Marilyn Bibby: Love this bookstore! During the shutdown the owner was doing weekly online cooking classes. I learned tricks from him and it reignited my love for cooking. Great store to visit, a good variety to choose from, and if they don't have the book you want, they will order it for you. So glad this store managed to survive after the lock down. Shop and support local!

I have met authors and had delicious food at book signings, and I have the opportunity to take classes! A business that supports the community with charity events, signings and much more.
Roderick Leider: Always a great time going to AFB and combing through new and classic cookbooks. Staff is easy going and knowledgeable, they always have a great recommendation whether buying for yourself or as a gift. Above and beyond that is the amazing classes Jonathan teaches on select evenings. I would highly recommend getting together a group of friends and indulging!

Nes: My go to for great pastries. Never disappointed.
Elise Geum: Perfectly balanced sweet paired with a latte and it's delightful. I go there often and get mango or raspberry tarts or chocolate caramel mouse that melt in the mouth.
Léna Brandenbusch: Chocolate birthday cake to roll around on the floor. Flavors and quality assured.
Flerida Infante: Loved my almond croissant and chai latte! The atmosphere is so cozy and charming and the staff is very attentive and friendly. She was very accommodating and answered every question we had and made sure we enjoyed our time there.

Dustin Scott: We planned for my spouse to attend the EC Language School in Montreal. Unfortunately, we could not, after multiple attempts, get Canada to approve the student visa. The school promised to refund the tuition and most of the fees if this happened and we received the refund as promised. I am a teacher who is really passionate about studying languages, so for me the approach taken by the school would be very important and this was definitive for my positive analysis. In addition to having great facilities, what defines the school are the professionals who work there. The teachers are very well prepared and, in addition to grammatical studies, they approach a living language with a focus on interaction and the objective of preparing students for an independent life in the world of this second language.
