Argo Bookshop: what do users think?

Helen Chambers: Really lovely little bookstore. The kind that you can spend ages in, even though it's small, because it's so well curated and there are lots of written recommendations and collections of books on the tables.Loved stopping in here and it's definitely worth a visit!

Eleuthera Diconca-Lippert: I love this place! I usually buy my books used, but any time I get them new, Argo is my go to. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable and they have an online database where you can order in advance and pick up in store. Highly recommend!

Annyra Ly: Friendly staff and has a nice varieties of books there absolutely enjoy going there with some friends !!💕

sage green: The employee working at the shop was really helpful and friendly! My kids loved the children's section. There's a good variety of chapter books for younger kids and I had no problem finding some great books for my 9 year old. I'm really only a fan of science fiction and in that section they had many books by women and marginalized people.I really appreciated the mask policy which remains in place in 2024. More shops should take this stand. All in all my new favourite bookstore! I can't wait to come back.

Reggie Bourn: Wonderful little bookshop with great selection and browseability!

Michael Cunningham: Argo is amazing. Their online store is super easy to find and get books from. Their staff provide an excellent service and they keep you updated on the status of your order. I would easily recommend them to anyone! Thank you!

Gretta Conroy: . I love their staff recommendations wall.

Erlien - Bunda PZ: Great

Macha Lopez: A wonderful, queer-friendly and covid-informed bookstore with nice community events. Thanks to the staff for being so friendly!

Saira Hussain: . I personally loved the wall of staff recommendations with thoughtfully written notes to accompany each book. One of the owners was manning the cash register and give us more detail on his recommendation when we asked. Seems like the perfect place for someone to spend some time solo browsing. Hope to visit again.

Irina Catescu: It’s a quaint little second-hand bookstore, a hidden gem in Mille End where you can easily spend 30 minutes to look for any books in English or French with a reasonable price.I recommend it for all the book lovers!

Albert Van den Berg: This is one of the hidden gems of Mille End. I was walking around and I decided to get in because it has a very bohème atmosphere. There are many choices of books in English and French. The prices are fair and I think this is the right place to be if you are looking for a bargain. You can easily spend half an hour here to pick your favorite titles.

Marc Bee: Closing for forever soon! Last chance

Laurie Gagnon: There is a wide variety of books, many in excellent condition! The owner Steven is very kind and knowledgeable about his stock. Librairie Paragraphe Bookstore: what do users think?

Malik Forrest: Lots of books

Roger PJK: Helpful and friendly service, well worth a visit.

Matt: Great but limited selection.

mary boults: I love books; I love to read. I like to linger in this store, no rush and peruse the shelves; this makes me very happy, not to be rushed. The staff at Paragraphe always strive to get for me the book that I want to read and I so appreciate their knowledge, their efforts, and their efficiency!

Jon Yazer: Terrific bookstore, well stocked, many English titles, and the best customer service. An excellent local alternative to Indigo.

David Astrof: This book shop is a sweet established Montreal Enterprise. It is as good as many of the bigger stores and better than most. I've enjoyed coming here for a long time. I don't usually give a review for any place that I wouldn't give five stars to. In this case, my four-star review has to do with something that most might consider insignificant. With the fact that Amazon has taken over as the biggest book distributor in the world, it seems odd that a small independent bookstore would not compete on a relatively inconsequential matter - offering a bag of some sort with which to carry one's purchases out onto the street, especially when the weather is inclement. The cost of the books that I bought was significantly more than I would have paid had I chosen to order online and those books would have come well packaged. I suspect that many people will still enjoy browsing in book shops like I do but, when they find something that they'd like to own, they may just take note of the book and order through Amazon. If I had planned to come to the bookstore, I would have brought a bag for my purchases. This was an impromptu visit. So, if I hadn't been miffed at not being offered a bag, this review would definitely have been five stars. Visit the store and bring your own bag.

Anne-Julie: Superb used bookstore. A fabulous mess for reading enthusiasts. Cash only.

Yoana Stoeva: This is my favorite book store in the entirety of Montreal. It has all the books you'll need and the owner is so sweet and helpful. I always find books that I wasn't searching for but needed, and they are always at the lowest prices that I could ever find them. I could not recommend this bookstore enough.

Rob Birchall: Great spot, owner was negotiable on some of the prices. Got 4 good books for $20

E N: Very cute store. It's small, but you can find really great books of all kinds. It's a bit of a hole in the wall, so can be easy to miss if you're not on the lookout. The prices are on the inside of the book on the first page. They only take cash, but it's really worth it since the prices are very low. I got 5 books for 40$.

Chiara Byrne: Wonderful place!

Achu: One of the last true great used books stores in the city. The vibe is perfect to find something unexpected, what a treat it is to discover that Terry is still in the book business!

glen dolhan: Amazing book store. Rare books keep looking in the piles. You Will be surprised

Jing Jin: Just love this place. This is the only kind of secondhand book store I truly enjoy. It is magical and full of surprises. Remember going there often when it was on st laurent Now finding it moved to my neighbourhood, the shop owner is still alive and well, really happy to see that.

Emma Nebelung: Great second hand book store, loaded with gems. It's cash only, so make sure to bring some cash when you come here. The Mister that works there is very amiable, and the price is really decent.

Vadisio Janadar: Great store. But you need cash.

Inna Hurley: Great selection of books at fair prices.

The undeniable attraction of the place: you never know what you're going to come across...a striking example, a Sister Machine Gun CD!!! Bargain price and total surprise 💖 A flagship institution, an indisputable second-hand pillar in MTL! Thanks for still being here 👍

Isadora Morin: Delighted to have met a fellow Slytherin

Nigels Plans: Excellent variety!

Marc Leblanc: Good store except not many DVD films, sometimes we would like to buy some lol and even if they are a little scratched for me it doesn't matter and it's like Amazon the price will be better; so you have to change your mentality 💭 🎼📀💽📚📕

Les Plus Belle Choses Dans Le Monde: Good selection of books, movies, and music, and friendly and helpful employees. I was thrilled to find a Martine St-Clair album here. Visit this establishment when you're in Montréal.
