Barbara C.: I've eaten at Aunt Dai at least 25 times in the past 6 years or so. There are dishes I keep coming back to, like the excellent cumin beef, the spicy shrimps, the kung pao chicken and mapo tofu.In the past, everything was consistently delicious. But in the past two years or so, it has changed a bit. The grilled calamari, which used to be one of their best dishes, is now a total disappointment and has nothing to do with what it used to be. The last time we went, the mapo tofu was bland and uninteresting, while it was exceptional the time before that. My son chose the Singapour noodles, because he's used to eating them at home and he likes to eat what he knows. Frankly, they were barely edible; they were oversalted and bland and the noodles were way overcooked. We know that it's not an authentic Chinese dish and a little more on the bland side, but there still is the possibility to cook a nice version of it.So all in all, I used to be very confident in the dishes I ordered at Aunt Dai, but now, when I go, I'm always a bit worried that the dishes I order won't be as good as usual. Some effort should be put in making sure the different cooks deliver the same flavors.

Christina Kung: A friend who was born in Chongqing suggested that I try this restaurant for a little taste of her home. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the owners are so friendly and welcoming! We ordered two variations of the braised beef noodle soup. The meat was tougher than I’d prefer but the portion was generous, the noodles were perfectly cooked and the broth was deliciously complex in flavor. Keep in mind your level of heat. They seem to go off a scale of 1-5 and we ended up with level 2 for the soup. We enjoy a good level of heat so next time we’ll say a 3!

Simon Says: The most popular hot pot in Montreal for three years, the sesame sauce is the most even. The owner is nice, the waiters are okay, and the tomato pot has the best taste!

Great dumpling choices and just not the same old flavors. We had spicy beef, yummy and flavorful, and chicken walnut which surprisingly just go so well together. The food was bland. It tasted almost nothing. It lacked flavor. My girlfriend had a plate of lamb, and to be honest, it was more of a plate of lamb ginger, there were so many large pieces of ginger. I had visited this restaurant a few times in previous years. I found this little restaurant excellent. There has certainly been a change, because it is no longer the same restaurant in terms of the quality of the meals, and in terms of flavor. I give it a 7 out of 10 and my girlfriend a 6 out of 10. With the tip, I paid $116 for two people and for me, it's really not worth that. Damage !

Rose: I NEVER leave disappointed from this place. This restaurant is a hidden gem, not only do they have student friendly prices but their food is amazing. Our group of 5 where all able to eat till we felt like we where about to POP for only 60$!! Iv tried almost every dumpling they offer and not one of them is bad, my noteable favourites being their xiao long boa with pork and shrimp, amazing! I recommend this place not only to people who want to save money, but people who are genuinely looking for authentic and delicious cuisine.

Eifion Pritchard: I used their takeout service during covid and was very satisfied. Recently went there for lunch with a friend and we ordered fried as well as steamed dumplings : shrimp and pork as well as beef and Curry. The shrimp and pork were over fried, which was not the case during covid, and I think it was an exception to the norm. Both orders were delicious.
