E: My dad has been going to this deli since the 80s. We're in Ottawa, and used to be able to do the trip very frequently. Now that he can't, I stop by every time I'm in Montreal and buy some meats as gifts. Anyone I have ever given sausages to becomes absolutely obsessed. You can't get this kind of quality anymore.Joe is amazing, and I look forward to seeing him when I go.

Sadman Islam: Got a $150 A5 wagyu ribeye from them, which developed a dark brown colour overnight and smelled really bad when I went to cook it the next day. Needless to say, the steak went bad and I trashed the entire steak. When I went to show the guys at the shop my pictures, they apologized for the quality of the product and immediately replaced it with with a new like for like Wagyu and even added a can of Foie Gras and some saucissons. 5 stars for their excellent customer service!

Lorelai Li: Nice little corner store meat market with some unique products at affordable prices. There is a small but dynamic selection of fruits, vegetables, canned goods, dairy and meat. Plus, they have the most delicious baguettes! The only reason I won't give five stars is because they tried to sell their customers expired dry goods by marking them on discount. When I realized they were expired and told the cashier, she didn't even have the decency to be embarrassed! She just shrugged and said, "I'm not the boss. They were on discount." I think it's kind of sneaky, and I said so. But...I'll keep coming back, and hope they don't try to disguise expiration dates on more important items, like their meat!
Gabriel Mainville: Basically, I discovered this butcher shop when I left Pointe St-Charles on foot. The staff members are very friendly. At first glance, I wanted chorizo but there wasn't what I wanted. The old fashioned ham looked so good that I decided to buy it.

It is really nice when the butcher is the owner of the store, so he takes care of you and tries his best so you have a good quality meat with some advice. I spoke with him on the phone asking about beef short ribs, he answered and explained in patience. I bought an 1855 black beef angus, and I cooked it for 6 hrs. with bbq sauce, the meat was the best piece I've ever had since I moved to Canada.

When I grew up some people might disagree but that’s a matter of opinion 😂 & started a family of my own I kept the tradition alive. I grew up with. Mr. George since I was 11-12yrs old now I’m in my mid-fifties & I still shop there. I recalled once when I tried to order a thick cut & he asked me why & how I was planning to cook it he suggested a different cut & even explained the reason behind his reply. I took his advise BBQ’d as he recommended & all I can say is wow spot on. Mr. George shares stories about my dad from time to time. I find it extremely heartwarming to know he hasn’t forgotten my dad. So bottom line from a local business, long time respected friend freshness service prices top marks all around . You gotta try at least once to truly appreciate excellence m’est products

J P: I already had lunch plans and I was just walking down Saint Laurent to kill some time but it was cold and windy and I needed a place to hide. Thankfully I walked by Boucherie Hongroise and saw a little soup and sandwich counter. Let me tell you, the spicy sausage sandwich with mustard and sauerkraut was so simple and delicious that I haven’t stopped thinking about it for a week. The bread was so soft and that sausage with a nice kick! I will be back the minute I’m in Montreal again.
