Corey Kasperski: I don't post reviews often but this shop is worthy of the praise!I was attempting to repair my DT880 Pro headset, they were very helpful in attempting a repair but after some parts I ordered were dead on arrival I decided to cut my losses.I was going to order some new ones online when I realized I was standing in a audio shop! I'm so used to just ordering stuff online I had forgotten that customer service is not dead and that for something like purchasing headphones it is probably best suited to be done in person!Big shout out to Jack for all of his help in trying to repair my old set and helping me pick out some new ones. They were not pushy at all in trying to make a sale and were very informative and honest about the products shown. Everyone's ears are different and we don't all hear things to same, he encouraged me to try out some products myself and decide whether I liked them or not. Reinforcing even more the idea that some products are best purchased in person so you can actually experience the product before you buy it! What I think sounds good someone else might hate and you can't tell unless you try them first.I ended up getting a new pair of Focal Elegia which I'm very happy with. It ended up being slightly outside my initial price range but with the sale price offered I felt it was worth the bit extra. Jack showed me quite a few sets that were within the same cost range as my old DT880 Pros before going outside that range and didn't just push the most expensive thing they had on me right out of the gate.Heck online shopping and do yourself a favour when it comes to buying certain products and take the time to go in person! You'll likely get a better deal overall and end up with a purchase that is better suited to your wants and needs.

The person who served me gave excellent advice and immediately directed me to the helmets that best suited what I liked. We talked for a good hour and I left with a great helmet at an excellent price and with lots of good advice on my future installation. Paulo Unia: As an audio beginner, I had a fantastic experience at Layton. I casually showed up during an afternoon and was kindly welcomed by Frank. I asked him a few questions about planar headphones and inquired about trying some headphones. As I learnt, they prefer if customers call in advance and make an appointment, but Frank had the time, so we discussed a bit, picked two headphones and a USB-C DAC, and went to one of the listening rooms. Frank gave me loads of information, never pressuring me to buy. We got a 2nd DAC for me to try after I had decided that the headphones I wanted were the Audeze LCD2-C. After some back & forth, I chose a DAC, asked Frank for a few other accessories and made my first big audio purchase. When getting Frank's advice, I felt like I was talking to a friend's uncle who had known me for 10 years, given the care he took to share his knowledge. After I had chosen the headphones, we even had a great conversation about espresso machines and mechanical watches before I left the store.After spending some time with the new headphones and DAC at home, I realized I had chosen the right headphones but the wrong DAC! So the next day, I returned to the store, where Frank exchanged the one I originally bought for the one I wanted.Thanks to Frank and the whole crew at Layton Audio for making me feel welcome as a beginner and introducing me to the world of hi-fi, as it can often be intimidating to step into a new hobby where technical words and acronyms are thrown around like everyone was born knowing them.

Jurgen Sprochnow: This is THE place to gear up for home listening. They're serious about music from start to finish. Graeme is an excellent jazz guitarist and accomplished recording engineer in his own right, so he knows what music is supposed to sound like and how to make it happen. The low power / high efficiency paradigm for their product line is working. Just put together a tube-based vinyl rig and it plays like a dream. Go in and listen for yourself.

Hugo installed a Apple car play and DIN in my infinity 2010 2 years ago and I had zero problems with it! Recently I went to infinity dealership on Jean talon to have an extra key programmed for my car and upon installing it, they messed up the programming of the windows, back up camera and heater.I had to go back to them 3 times around my work schedule band they couldn’t fix the heater.I figured out how to fix my own backup camera but winter is coming and I need to have heat for rainy and icy days! Infinity asked me to go back to where I installed my radio and Hugo just played with a couple of buttons and voila! If you need anything suped up electronically in your car or even just your basic needs, this is the place to go!A super happy customer!Thank you again Hugo!

Alain Laperrière: In December 2019, I was finally planning to afford an audio sound system worthy of the name. After going to several places, I ended up going to Filtronique where Richard took the time required to help me identify the style of sound I was looking for. As I was very involved it wasn't easy for him I imagine! For me it was ultimately the most transparent sound possible. Richard then made it clear to me that the sound signal would then be rendered with all the defects of the soundtrack if that was the case. Or also with incredible harmonics during excellent soundtracks. And that’s the case anyway! I was very well advised there. Richard guided me step by step to find everything necessary for my beautiful project. Even though there was no problem with me changing the external amplifier chosen at the start shortly after, which in the end was an excellent idea. Because then I found the match that suited me. It’s obvious that as they have high end, it’s not cheap. But it's worth it. I recommend this place. They are passionate about it and Richard takes the time required with us and gives good advice. It’s audio heaven!

I am certain numerous technicians would have given up upon finding out that no off-the-shelf replacement power supply was available.Lucas’s and Christian’s concern for client satisfaction is also certainly commendable. Let alone the long time my friend and I spent speaking with Christian, when we went to pickup the Kairn, about a long list of tweaks and add-ons that generally better sound systems, all without any incitement or pressure to buy this or that.Based on this experience, I can only and gladly recommend Codell: competence, concern for client satisfaction, and passion.
