The bread has tons of options. Plus you cannot go wrong with the ice cream in summer. Bacon and smoked meat for a snack.

Antoine Montmory: One of the best butcher shops on Ontario Street! They don't have many different meats but the quality is always AAA. The lamb chops are excellent, at an affordable price. The products they sell separately are very good: the dates and yogurt are delicious; the Sabra butcher shop is the only one to sell its quality products, located between the city center and Ville-Marie. The atmosphere is warm and pleasant.

It is really nice when the butcher is the owner of the store, so he takes care of you and tries his best so you have a good quality meat with some advice. I spoke with him on the phone asking about beef short ribs, he answered and explained in patience. I bought an 1855 black beef angus, and I cooked it for 6 hrs. with bbq sauce, the meat was the best piece I've ever had since I moved to Canada.

None of Your Business: These guys have some of the best prices I have seen, and the quality is pretty damn good. Want a standing rib roast for four but don't want to sell your kidneys, go there. Need a good size chicken for Sunday dinner for under 20$ they've got you covered. Want some specialty meats like boar or bison...bingo! In an age of declining quality and shrinkflation these gentlemen are my go to butchers. I just wish they didn't close on Sundays in January.

Lorelai Li: Nice little corner store meat market with some unique products at affordable prices. There is a small but dynamic selection of fruits, vegetables, canned goods, dairy and meat. Plus, they have the most delicious baguettes! The only reason I won't give five stars is because they tried to sell their customers expired dry goods by marking them on discount. When I realized they were expired and told the cashier, she didn't even have the decency to be embarrassed! She just shrugged and said, "I'm not the boss. They were on discount." I think it's kind of sneaky, and I said so. But...I'll keep coming back, and hope they don't try to disguise expiration dates on more important items, like their meat!

E: My dad has been going to this deli since the 80s. We're in Ottawa, and used to be able to do the trip very frequently. Now that he can't, I stop by every time I'm in Montreal and buy some meats as gifts. Anyone I have ever given sausages to becomes absolutely obsessed. We have the impression of disturbing them and the smile is not there. But, I found that the quality of their meatballs was satisfactory without saying that they are the best I have eaten in my life. The meatballs are precooked and well seasoned. I didn't find them greasy. If you are close to the Jean-Talon market, you will go to this butcher shop because I think it is still worth going there.
